Pietra Ligure Italy
Pietra Ligure, tourist resort and winter is much appreciated for its climate, lies along the Riviera di Ponente between Borgo Verezzi and Loano with behind the Monte Carmo (1,389 m).
Its name originates from the castle dating from the VII – VIII century and put on the rocky point overlooking the coast and the nearby hills.
The old town, now almost entirely pedestrian zone, is characterized by alleyways (the narrow streets of the unique Ligurian village) and is one of the most significant and interesting of Liguria.
In summer the waterfront is crowded with tourists, attracted also by events such as fireworks to celebrate the Feast of the Miracle (July 8) and Assumption (15 August).
Pietra Ligure offers free beaches with baths, showers and various games for children.
To mention the “beach boats” placed in front of the historic center, where once an anchorage for the fishermen.
Extensive green area on the slopes of Mount pitfalls. The park has a pond with fish and turtles, and an area for animals.
